TOC and Index to the 'hymns' of Atharva Veda

Atharva Veda is the fourth and the last of the major vedas or scriptural works of the Vedic religion

It is also the most obscure and neglected among the vedas. The reasons are not very far to seek. Most Hindus have hardly any idea about the Atharva Veda other than many myths and falsehoods that today's Hindu propagandists are busy spreading about it. None of them may have even glanced through them and just accept opinions on it from religious leader without any scrutiny

Most major western indologists have a poor opinion about this scripture and one look at the index below will show why.

One can look at the positive side of the primitiveness of the AV and give it some benefit of doubt. But one cannot escape the sense that it is just a collection of charms, imprecations and incantations that reek of witchcraft, black magic and voodoo denoting the Vedic Dark Ages

It is hard to believe and accept the Hindu fundamentalist spin that this veda was the forerunner of ancient Indian medicine, chemistry and engineering!!!
